CrossCountry has announced the suspension of planned industrial action by the RMT this weekend (Saturday 01 November), with services now set to run as initially planned.
The action has been called off following talks between the company and the union to resolve what RMT states are ‘issues regarding the undermining of safety-critical roles and threats to safety and jobs’.
Despite services resuming; CrossCountry has advised passengers that expects services to be busy across the network due to a combination of planned engineering works and pre-Christmas events.
CrossCountry’s Managing Director, Shiona Rolfe, said:
We are pleased that RMT has suspended planned strike action this Saturday 1 November, and we look forward to welcoming passengers on board. Thanks must also go to colleagues who have worked tirelessly to reinstate a full timetable on Saturday, to make sure people can get to where they need to be.
Engineering work on parts of the network will still mean some changes to journeys – if you’re planning to travel this Saturday, please check your journey before setting off.”
