Pomorskie awards two operating contracts

Pomorskie voivodship received bids from only the two incumbents when it tendered one-year contracts for the operation of regional passenger services.

Gdańsk, Sopot and Gdynia suburban rail operator SKM Trójmiasto priced its services at 54m złoty, while national regional train operator PolRegio quoted 35·9m złoty.

The current services will mostly remain unchanged, except between Słupsk and Lębork where those currently provided by SKM T will in future be provided by PolRegio. Passengers will be able to use SKM T tickets to travel on PolRegio services as far as Gdynia, but there is no agreement for cross-acceptance of tickets between Gdynia and Gdańsk.
