PMO Emphasizes Marine Conservation and Sustainable Development on World Oceans Day

In his message, Shikibi Nasab emphasized that protecting the marine environment and reducing pollution are not merely choices but universal necessities and shared responsibilities. He noted that the Islamic Republic of Iran, leveraging its geostrategic position and access to international waters, possesses unique potential in a sea-based economy.
The managing director described the country’s ports as the gateways of trade and drivers of development, bearing a heavy responsibility for the sustainable exploitation of marine resources. He stated that the Ports and Maritime Organization is committed to fulfilling its national and international obligations by taking effective steps to protect the marine environment.
"Alongside infrastructure development, we are committed to preserving this valuable natural heritage by adhering to international standards," Shikibi Nasab said.
Concluding his message, Shikibi Nasab expressed hope that through synergy and cooperation among all responsible institutions, effective steps can be taken toward the protection of oceans and the advancement of sustainable, sea-oriented development.
