Livestock carrier catches fire at Port of Piraeus

After the fire was reported, tugs, boats, fire engines and teams were deployed in fire fighting.

As the fire department reported, the fire was extinguished in several hours.

At the time of the incident, the vessel was in ballast, while it did not have any cattle on board.

It is not yet known how the fire started, or what damages it has caused to the ship. Sources also report that no injuries were reported.

The ship had arrived at Piraeus on May 27 from Jeddah.
