HKIA handles record number of passengers and flight movements in ۲۰۱۵-۱۶

TIN news: Hong Kong International Airport (HKIA) has handled 69.7 million passengers and 410,000 flight movements between 2015 and 2016, with year-on-year increases of 7.8% and 3.6% respectively.
Cargo throughput decreased 1.4% to 4.3 million tonnes during the period.
HKIA continues to remain the world's third busiest international passenger airport, and the busiest cargo airport for the sixth consecutive year.

The airline and destination network of HKIA also increased during the 2015-2016 financial year, with the launch of new airline services such as Jetstar Pacific, AirAsia Zest and Sky Lease Cargo.
Myanmar National Airlines resumed its service to Hong Kong, while HKIA added Düsseldorf, Germany, and Gold Coast, Australia, to its extensive destination network, and direct services to Boston, US, were resumed.
As of the end of March, HKIA served more than 100 airlines operating across 190 destinations.
During the year, the number of passengers who use HKIA's land and sea cross-boundary transport increased to 4.9 million.
This included 2.81 million passengers making trips between HKIA and SkyPier ferry destinations in Macao and the Pearl River Delta, showing a rise of 0.1% from last year.
HKIA also welcomed 2.1 million cross-boundary passengers travelling by coaches and limousines in 2015-2016, an increase of 1.2% during 2014-2015.
