TIN news:   AirPortr, the on-demand baggage delivery service, has launched at Heathrow airport, in a bid to transform air travel experience for its passengers.
Launched by Portr, a London-based travel-technology company, AirPortr service ensures same-day, on demand bag-free travel for Heathrow's more than 75 million passengers.
Designed to deliver baggage within hours between locations in London and Heathrow, the service is initially deployed at Terminals 3 and 5 followed by Terminals 2 and 4 in early 2016.
Customers availing the service can pre-book it in advance or on the day of travel from any device.
Airportr provides secured baggage delivery service both from the airport (arrivals) to London destinations, as well as from any London location to the airport (departures) at the preferred time given by the customer.
Without having to carry their heavy luggage, passengers can now travel freely and quickly. They can take any public transport without being anchored to their location by their heavy baggage.
"Today's announcement marks a major milestone and realisation of that vision to deliver 'bag free' travel."
They can now leave their bags to AirPortr and travel bag-free where, when and how they want to around the city.
The service is provided at an affordable cost making it available for all travellers and trip types.
AirPortr CEO Randel Darby said: "Our vision has always been to transform the way we travel here in London.
"Today's announcement marks a major milestone and realisation of that vision to deliver 'bag free' travel.
"We are delighted to now be an official partner of Heathrow, the UK's hub airport, being a fundamental pillar of our strategy, connecting our city with global business and tourism."
