New York State Police’s new crime lab opens at Stewart International Airport
TIN news: The New York State Police has opened a $10m new Mid-Hudson Regional crime lab at the Stewart International Airport.
Announced by Governor Andrew M. Cuomo,the 10,000ft2, single-story crime lab will facilitate acute testing services as well as law-enforcement throughout the Hudson Valley.
Construction of the lab has been funded by The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey as a token of appreciation for the New York State Police for enforcing law and safeguarding operations at the Stewart Airport since 1970.

Port Authority of New York and New Jersey executive director Pat Foye said: "The new crime lab advances the long-standing relationship between the New York State Police and Stewart Airport.
"It also signifies the Port Authority's continued commitment to the Hudson Valley community by supporting the region's economy.
"Since taking over operations in 2007, the agency has invested more than $50m in airport improvements and another $180m in new runways, terminal enhancements and police services."
The lab will deal with driving while intoxicated (DWI) cases, examining evidences against the accused.
It will shoulder the responsibility of analysing samples seized in drug cases within Orange, Ulster, Dutchess, Rockland and Putnam counties.
It will also scrutinise samples from the State Police cases that originate from Westchester County and New York City.
