Deals this week: Ferrovial, African Development Bank Group, EIB

TIN news:  The Texas Department of Transportation has awarded a contract worth €790m ($843m) to a consortium consisting of Ferrovial Agroman, Webber, and Granite Construction.
The contractual scope includes design and construction of a 52.5-mile section of Grand Parkway toll road on State Highway 99 in Texas, US. 
The new section will add up to two lanes in each direction between US 59 and I-10 and four lanes between I-10 and SH 146. The project also includes modernisation of the tolling infrastructure on the highway between I-10 and FM 1405.
The African Development Bank Group (AfDB) has approved $253m loan for road development projects in Kenya and Uganda.
The Kenyan Government will receive $147.3m, while the Government of Uganda will receive $105.7m of the total loan amount.
"Construction on the project is expected to begin in late-2017.
The loan will be used to upgrade a 118km section of road between Kapchorwa, Uganda, to Kitale, Kenya, for the construction of a 32km Eldoret town bypass in Kenya, and for the construction of One Stop Border Post in Suam, Kenya.
Scheduled for completion in 2021, the road projects will enhance connectivity between the two countries as well as improve road safety and living standards of the people living around.
The European Investment Bank (EIB) has announced $82m loan under the EU Latin America lending mandate of 2014-20, for a road upgrade project in Bolivia.
The road upgrade project will include widening of 44km of the road connecting the Confital and Bombeo areas by constructing two new lanes in each direction.
Forming part of the east-west corridor, the new road serves as a key link connecting Bolivia’s three biggest cities including La Paz, Cochabamba and Santa Cruz.
Construction on the project is expected to begin in late-2017.
