Deals this week: Comsoft Solutions, Terma, Admaterials Technologies

TIN news:  Estonian Air Navigation Services (EANS) has contracted Comsoft Solutions to provide a system-wide information management (SWIM)-ready aeronautical information management (AIM) solution.
The solution will assist EANS during its AIM installation project, which will enhance the International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO) aeronautical information services (AIS) to AIM roadmap.
The new solution will also integrate four crucial components, including data origination, enhanced geographic information system (GIS), workflow management, and digital notice to airmen (NOTAM) capabilities, over the next 18 months.
Spain’s air navigation manager, AENA, has appointed manufacturing company Terma to upgrade the existing surface movement radar (SMR) at Madrid Barajas Airport in the country.
The new-generation solid state Scanter 5502 surface movement radar will be installed at the airport, as part of the contract.
Terma will also integrate the SMR into the airport’s advanced surface movement guidance and control system (A- SMGCS) as the primary non-corporative surveillance sensor.
The upgrade will enhance safety by allowing air traffic controllers to monitor, guide and instruct aircraft, vehicles and personnel at the airport.
Admaterials Technologies, a unit of Exova’s soil testing service, has secured a contract to perform earthwork testing at Changi East Development at Changi Airport, Singapore.
The contractual scope includes handling of standard laboratory, grading, compaction and classification earthworks testing, plate loading, field density and swell testing.

The contractor will also perform California bearing ratio (CBR) tests, which determine the effectiveness of compaction on soil materials used for the proposed road construction.
The earthwork testing will be carried on-site at Changi Airport, as well as in Exova’s specialised laboratory in Singapore.
Ljubljana Airport has appointed air traffic simulation services provider, UFA, to provide ATTower ATC training solution at its control training facility in Slovenia.
The contractor will provide multi-channel ATView configuration to display the 3D aerodrome visual model and simulated traffic situation, as well as four photorealistic 3D airport visual models.
