Iran to build airport city soon

TIN news:    Iran plans to start construction of an airport city in Imam Khomeini International Airport in the near future.
 
The cabinet meeting approved statute of Imam Khomeini Airport City in its session on June 1 tasking Iranian Minister of Road and Urban Development with making arrangement for the project.
 
"After the statute was approved and signed into law by the minister of road and urban development, steps have been taken for registering the company relevant to Imam Khomeini Airport City and appropriate actions have been done," said Gholam-Reza Shirazian, Director of Development Plan of Imam Khomeini Airport Ghoman-Reza Shirazian said.
 
He said the final decision about the company would be made in coming months.
 
The construction of the airport city would be started soon after the initial steps are taken.
 
Deputy Head of Iranian Minister of Road and Urban Development Mohammad Ali Nourian has already said the country has held talks with foreign countries and have made an agreement with a Chinese company.
 
The contract values 2.5 billion dollars. Establishment of the air port city would pave the way for investment of private sectors.
 
The city is as large as 14.000 hectares which would create job opportunities for 500.000 people. It would present different activities in the form of 25 technical towns to investors.
 
The towns include health, education, tourism, media, entertainment, trade, environment, high tech, exhibition and export
