MTU Maintenance Lease, the Amsterdam-based engine leasing and asset management business of the German MRO, has opened a new warehouse for stocking engine parts in Zhuhai, China, aimed at bettering support for regional customers.

The new facility, located close to the MTU Maintenance Zhuhai joint venture operated by MTU Aero Engines and China Southern Airlines, is the third in its global network, adding to locations in Amsterdam and in Fort Worth opened in 2024.

Engine programs supported at the Zhuhai location include parts for the GE Aerospace CF6-80, CFM International CFM56-5B/7B, GE Aerospace GE90 and International Aero Engines V2500 engines.

Logistics specialist Kuehne+Nagel will operate the warehouse on behalf of MTU Maintenance Zhuhai and will handle export, import, warehousing and transportation processes. The location will operate 365 days a year and MTU Maintenance Lease said it has the capability to ship engine parts either on the same day or within a 24-hr. time frame.

MTU Maintenance Lease Services MD Patrick Biebel said the new warehouse demonstrates the company’s commitment to providing fast and reliable access to essential engine parts and said it will help minimize operational downtime and ensure support for customers in both China and the Asia-Pacific region.

The new Zhuhai warehouse features bonded storage, guaranteeing the shipment of parts either on the same day of order or within a 24-hr. time frame, seven days a week and 365 days a year. Each shipment is accompanied by complete digital documentation, ensuring compliance and traceability, which are vital in today’s regulatory environment.
