U.S. carrier Breeze Airways will add two new airports to its network, including Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport (FLL) in Florida.

The airline will kick off flights between FLL and Wilmington International Airport (ILM) in North Carolina from Nov. 7. The route will be operated 2X-weekly. FLL is the base airport of Spirit Airlines.

Breeze will also add Salisbury Regional Airport (SBY) in Maryland to its route map, with flights to Orlando International Airport (MCO) starting Oct. 1. The route will be flown 2X-weekly.

SBY, located about 125 mi. east of Reagan Washington National Airport, is the home base of regional carrier Piedmont Airlines, an American Airlines subsidiary. Piedmont, the only airline operating at SBY, connects passengers to American hubs Philadelphia and Charlotte, North Carolina. MCO will become the airport’s third destination.

SBY is also the closest airport to popular vacation destination Ocean City, Maryland, which is 30 mi. east of Salisbury.

The additions of FLL and SBY will bring Breeze’s network to 72 airports. The carrier started 2025 serving 65 points after adding 29 destinations to its network in 2024.

Breeze CEO David Neeleman told Aviation Week’s Window Seat Podcast the airline, founded in 2021, plans to continue to build its network by mostly flying non-competitive routes. The carrier operates around 280 routes currently—about 87% of which are exclusive—and Neeleman said there are potentially 1,500 city pairs it could fly without going head-to-head with the U.S. major airlines.

“I think where the ULCCs have gotten into trouble is that they went right into the heart of [the majors’] business and started really just taking business away that was on an existing route,” he said. “We create most of our traffic. We're not really hurting anyone, we're just generating new traffic.”

In addition to flights to FLL, ILM will see Breeze add three more routes from the airport: Akron-Canton Airport (CAK) in Ohio (2X-weekly from Nov. 7); Long Island MacArthur Airport in Islip, New York (2X-weekly from Oct  2); and Tampa, Florida (2X-weekly from Oct. 2). Breeze also plans to double service on its ILM-MCO route from 2X-weekly currently to 4X-weekly from Sept. 1.

The carrier will also launch new routes to Florida from CAK in addition to the new service to ILM. These include Daytona Beach (2X-weekly from Sept. 3) and Jacksonville (2X-weekly from Sept. 4).

Other new routes unveiled by Breeze include service between Northwest Arkansas National Airport and Pensacola, Florida (2X-weekly from Sept. 4); between Lansing, Michigan, and Tampa (2X-weekly from Oct. 1); from Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, to both New Orleans (2X-weekly from Sept. 4) and Rochester, New York (2X-weekly from Oct. 2); and from Raleigh-Durham, North Carolina, to both Key West, Florida (2X-weekly from Oct. 3), and Manchester, New Hampshire (2X-weekly from Nov. 6).

The carrier will also connect Savannah, Georgia, to New Orleans (2X-weekly from Sept. 5), Key West (2X-weekly from Oct. 3) and Manchester (2X-weekly from Nov. 6). Service between Memphis, Tennessee, and Pensacola will kick off Sept. 5 and be operated 2X-weekly.
