Air Taxi India would operate on a fixed schedule and serve regional short-haul flights between small airports. The airline reportedly plans to commence operations before the end of 2020.

"We got our permit on December 14. We will be applying for slots now," Varun Suhag, Air Taxi India co-founder said. “The airline's operations will be based in Chandigarh. We have a total of 26 routes in RCS," Suhag told Moneycontrol.

The air carrier plans to deploy twin-engine Tecnam P2006T VT-ATC aircraft, which has the capacity to carry three passengers and one pilot per flight.
