Addressing the 14th Meeting of the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) Transport Ministers in Kazakhstan, H.E. Farzaneh Sadegh, the Islamic Republic of Iran’s Minister of Roads and Urban Development, highlighted the critical vulnerabilities of regional transit networks amidst geopolitical conflicts and called for robust measures to ensure their continuity.

"It is my earnest expectation that the transport ministers of the member states unequivocally underscore the absolute necessity of safeguarding civilian infrastructure and strategic transit corridors from the ramifications of regional conflicts," Minister Sadegh stated.

Reiterating the need for proactive institutional engagement, the Minister proposed a targeted mandate for the organization's administrative body: "The ECO Secretariat may comprehensively assess the repercussions of war and security disruptions on our regional transport networks. Furthermore, it is imperative that the Secretariat formulates and presents actionable, practical strategies to bolster infrastructure resilience and guarantee the uninterrupted operation of our vital transit corridors."
