Securing Roads and Enhancing Welfare Infrastructure at the Arbaeen Borders
The Deputy Chairman for Planning and Resource Development at the Road Maintenance and Transportation Organization announced the mobilization of all capacities to secure roads and establish welfare infrastructure for over 90% of Arba'een pilgrims, who travel by road.

Key Measures Implemented:
• Budget Allocation : Nearly 2,000 billion IRRs allocated for road safety, signage and welfare facilities at Mehran, Shalamcheh, Chazabeh, Khosravi, Dogharoon, Mirjaveh and Rimdan borders.
• Cooling and Welfare : 400 billion IRRs invested in water, electricity, awnings, fogging systems and health facilities to combat summer heat at borders.
• Sanitation and Staff : Deployment of 1,000 staff for 24-hour cleaning and health services at Arbaeen borders, catering to over 210,000 pilgrims daily at Mehran during peak days.
• Transport and Driver Facilities: Arrangements for 2,000 buses at Mehran and 1,000 at other borders, with dormitories and rest areas for drivers.
• Infrastructure Upgrades: Expansion of traffic gates to minimize delays for pilgrims crossing into Iraq.
