Clark County Commission begins Northwest ۲۱۵ Beltway construction project
|
TIN news:        Clark County Commission vice-chairman Larry Brown has joined other local leaders to break ground on the Northwest 215 Bruce Woodbury Beltway improvement project in southern Nevada, US.

Undertaken by Las Vegas Paving, the 215 Beltway Craig Road to Hualapai Way construction project will turn additional three miles of the Beltway into a full freeway, making it safer and more efficient for drivers.

The project falls entirely under the jurisdiction of District C of the Commission.
"The 215 Beltway is a critically important road used by hundreds of thousands of residents every day to get to work and school."

Brown said: "The 215 Beltway is a critically important road used by hundreds of thousands of residents every day to get to work and school.

"This project will take a major piece of the Beltway that still has traffic signals and turn it into a traditional divided highway. This will reduce traffic congestion and make driving on the Beltway safer and easier."

Apart from bringing the north-west section of the Beltway to full freeway standards, the project also covers flood control improvements, and an extension of the western Beltway bicycle/pedestrian trail.

The project contractor will also construct a new bridge to carry Centennial Parkway over the 215, and new highway interchanges at Lone Mountain and Ann roads.

Expected to be completed in late 2018, the project will upgrade more than 45 miles of the 52-mile Beltway to full freeway standards.

The project is being funded through fuel revenue indexing, which takes a portion of payments made by motorists at the pump to support critical transportation projects
