Alstom supplies equipment for Sarmiento Line resignalling

POSE, Argentina, has awarded a €10m sub-contract to Alstom to supply signalling equipment for a project to resignal four stations on the Merlo - Lobos branch of the Sarmiento Line in Buenos Aires for Argentinean Trains Infrastructure (TAI).

Alstom will install electro-mechanical interlockings and supply vital relays, track circuits, point machines and level crossings. Alstom will be responsible for system design, supervision and commissioning for the 30-month scheme.

The work is part of TAI’s project to install automatic train stop (ATS) on the Sarmiento, Urquiza, San Martin, Belgrano Sur, and Belgrano Norte lines by next year, and the Mitre Line and Tren de la Costa by 2019.
