  • On 2 March, one symptomatic (COVID-19) passenger caused a large cluster of cases during long-haul flight VN54 between London Heathrow, United Kingdom and Hanoi, Vietnam, a new study published (early) by the American Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) revealed.

  • Qatar Airways announces the resumption of three-weekly flights to Mogadishu, Somalia from 06 September 2020. Service to the capital city of Somalia will be operated by an Airbus A320 featuring 12 seats in Business class and 120 seats in Economy class.

  • SWISS is to add the Geneva Cornavin to Zurich Airport route to the ‘Airtrain’ rail services which it offers in collaboration with the Swiss Federal Railways. The new services should help keep Western Switzerland optimally connected with SWISS’s Zurich Airport hub even after the timetable changes that the airline has had to make in response to the coronavirus crisis. In extending the Airtrain network to Geneva, SWISS is also offering its customers more options for seamlessly combining multiple modes of transport.

  • Etihad Airways (Etihad) has announced the expansion of its partnership with AccesRail, the world’s leading provider of air-rail intermodal solutions. The partnership allows Etihad to use AccesRail’s expertise to enable its customers to book train and coach tickets in Europe in conjunction with their air fare using the airline’s online booking platform, or through their travel agency.
