TINNews |

Members of the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) gathered in Astana to devise a roadmap for the creation of a common market for road transport services, comprising the removal of all barriers for transport within the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU).

The roadmap identifies e-CMR in plans to improve regional cooperation, highlighting the need for more streamlined digital transport and logistics to drive development prospects.

EEC board member, Minister of Energy and Infrastructure, Adamkul Zhunusov, said,

"The Roadmap on… a coordinated transport policy provides that the accession of the Eurasian Economic Union member states to the e-CMR protocol is a big step towards industry digitalisation. IRU's best practices and projects in this regard, shared today, are extremely interesting.”

Moderating the joint IRU/EEC conference in Astana, “Road Transport: new opportunities for strengthening Eurasian integration”, IRU announced the winners of the Best Eurasian Road Transport Operators award from Kazakhstan and Russia, with a special certificate awarded to Kyrgyzstan for expanding the geography of its transport operations. President Christian Labrot also presented a plaque to the Belarusian member, BAMAP, on the occasion of its 25th anniversary.
