A 23 percent increase in the transport of essential cargo from Imam Khomeini Port
The Director General of Road Maintenance and Transportation of Khuzestan Province announced that the movement of over 11,236,000 tons of essential cargo from Imam Khomeini Port over the first eight months of the current year represents a 23 percent rise compared to the same period last year.
Mohammad Joulanezhad stated that these essential cargo were transported through 478,231 truck trips, reflecting a 22 percent increase in the number of trips and the utilization of the road transport fleet compared with the corresponding period last year.
He added that the main essential cargo transported include wheat, barley, corn, oilseeds and agricultural and livestock inputs, which have been delivered to various regions across Iran.
