BEML Limited, a public sector enterprise under the Government of India, has received a contract worth approximately 157 crore INR to manufacture 15 sets of Switch Rail Grinding Machines, comprising 30 cars.

The order was placed by Loram Rail Maintenance India Private Limited, a company specialising in rail maintenance technologies.

Under the agreement, BEML will produce and supply Switch Rail Grinding Machines to Indian Railways. The machines are designed to perform precision grinding of railway switches and crossings, aimed at improving track reliability, maintaining ride quality, and reducing maintenance downtime.
