FAA probing near - midair collision at New York airport

TIN news:      The US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has started an investigation into a near-midair collision between a JetBlue Flight 94 and a small aircraft near Westchester County Airport in the north of New York City, US, marking the second such incident last month involving a Jetblue Airbus A320.
 
JetBlue's Airbus A320 was on the way from Orlando, when the airport's air traffic controllers warned it of an unidentified small aircraft coming towards it, according to News12.
"Passengers on the plane said the small aircraft was so close that they were able to hear the engines."
 
Another regional media noted that the Jetblue pilots had successfully changed course and narrowly evaded the collision.

No injuries were reported as a result of the incident.
 
On 18 January, a JetBlue Airways flight to Austin was forced to abort its take off and come back to New York's John K Kennedy International Airport when an arriving Caribbean Airlines plane from Guyana crossed its path on the runway without approval.
 
A probe is also underway on another incident involving a Delta Air Lines Boeing 777 that flew from the Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport towards Japan, and reverted shortly in the wake of reports of smoke emerging from the aircraft.
