Weather conditions at Shahid Hasheminejad Airport turned back to normal and flights resumed on Monday, said the head of the airport’s public relations department.

Flights were stopped since 20:00 haours last night due to a heavy fog, Hassan Jafari told the Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA). 

The airport has resumed its flights since 6:00 hours this morning, he added. 

With an average of 180 flights per day peaking at 250, Mashad’s Hasheminejad International Airport in northeast of Iran, is the country's second busiest airport after the Tehran-based Mehrabad airport.
