TINNews |

Los Angeles-based Air Lease Corp. has finalized an order with Boeing for 12 737 MAX aircraft, previously announced at the 2017 Paris Air Show. The agreement also includes two new orders for the 787-9 Dreamliner.

The deal includes five 737 MAX 7s and seven 737 MAX 8s, bringing ALC’s total MAX orders to 130. The MAX aircraft will be powered by CFM International LEAP-1B engines, in an engine order valued at $348 million at list prices, according to a CFM statement. Deliveries are scheduled to begin in 2022.

The five MAX 7s and seven MAX 8s are collectively valued at $1.2 billion at list prices.

The two 787-9s will be powered by GE Aviation’s GEnx-1B engines, which will be delivered from 2019, according to GE Aviation. ALC has ordered a total of 49 Dreamliners.

“These additional orders reflect ALC’s highly successful placements to date of our MAX and 787 order book and the need to fulfill the incremental demand we are experiencing for these aircraft across both existing and new customers for ALC,” ALC CEO and president John Plueger said.
