Five new terminals to be constructed at Veracruz Port

TINNews |

TIN news:  Jan De Nul Group announced that has acquired a contract for the deepening of the Port of Veracruz in Mexico. Five new port terminals will be constructed in the area.

According to the company, the areas to be dredged include the access channel and the turning basin. In total, more than 13 million cubic meters will be removed and reclaimed.

The terminals will be built on top of the reclaimed areas and will be able to handle up to 100 million tonnes a year, which is more than the yearly tonnage handling of the largest ports of Mexico, i.e. Lazaro Cardenas and Manzanillo.

The works are scheduled to commence in the summer and will be completed in March 2018. For this project the jumbo cutter suction dredger Marco Polo will be deployed.
