InComm expands its Tolling and Transit programs with RiverLink addition

One of the leading suppliers of prepaid products and payments technology, InComm, has announced the latest US expansion of its Tolling and Transit program, involving a partnership with Kapsch TrafficCom on the RiverLink toll system.

InComm works with transportation authorities and toll operators to give transit riders and drivers a convenient way to manage their commuting budgets. Through the company’s network of more than 500,000 retail outlets, consumers can easily load value onto their tolling or transit account.

Through InComm’s program, the RiverLink Starter Kit is now available as a prepaid tolling option for drivers crossing the Ohio River over the recently new and improved bridges connecting Louisville, Kentucky and Southern Indiana. The RiverLink Starter Kit, which contains a transponder and reload card, offers commuters a fast and convenient way to manage their RiverLink account, by taking their reload card to any participating retailer and using any payment method, including cash.

The partnership with RiverLink was initiated by Kapsch TrafficCom, which is the toll systems provider for the three RiverLink bridges that are operated by the Louisville-Southern Indiana Ohio River Bridges (LSIORB). Kapsch has designed, installed, and is operating the open-road toll collection system for these bridges, in addition to managing the back-office system and customer service center operations.

Now operating in six states, InComm’s Tolling and Transit program provides transportation authorities with the prepaid technologies they need to provide their commuters with convenient travel options, including:

• Prepaid cards for public transportation, such as UTA in Salt Lake City, Utah;

• Prepaid cards or starter kits for electronic tolls, including Peach Pass in Georgia, and the new RiverLink system in Kentucky and Indiana.
