Municipality plans to cut air pollution in Tehran by ۵۰% in ۴ years

TIN news:     Mayor Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf says that the municipality under his leadership is considering measures to reduce air pollution in Tehran by 50 percent in the course of 4 years.
 
Speaking on Monday at a ceremony to inaugurate subway stations, Qalibaf called for joint effort by all involved organizations to fight air pollution, Mehr news agency reported.
 
He insisted on the need to improve public transportation system as a major policy to fight air pollution, adding that the municipality is aiming at digging 30 kilometers subway tunnels a year which, according to him, will be a world record.
 
He added that plans are made to make 20 kilometers of subway transportation operational each year.
