Eight flights have been launched between the cities of Tehran and Bushehr, the director general of Bushehr Province Airports Company announced.

"Four of these flights are operated by ATA Airlines using McDonnell Douglas aircraft with a capacity of 170 passengers on Saturdays and Tuesdays," IRNA also quoted Kamal Dehqan-Manshadi as saying.

The other four flights will be operated by Taban Airlines also using MD aircraft with the same passenger capacity.

With the new flights, the number of weekly flights at Bushehr International Airport has now reached 70 for the Tehran-Bushehr route.

Dehqan-Manshadi noted that the rise in the number of flights will lead to a fall in ticket prices, in addition to increasing public satisfaction.

Currently, Bushehr International Airport operates 84 weekly flights to and from the cities of Tehran, Mashhad, Kharg and Isfahan.
