Eleven foreign-flagged ships under detention in UK in June

Eleven foreign-flagged ships were under detention in UK ports during June 2018, after failing Port State Control (PSC) inspection, according to data provided by the UK Maritime and Coastguard Agency (MCA).

Eleven foreign-flagged ships were under detention in UK ports during June 2018, after failing Port State Control (PSC) inspection, according to data provided by the UK Maritime and Coastguard Agency (MCA).

Namely, during June, there were seven new detentions in a UK port, while four vessels remained under detention from previous months. A total of five vessels remained under detention at the end of June.

New detentions in June

One of the new detentions involved the Liberian-flagged bulk carrier 'Douwent', found with 6 deficiencies. This vessel was was still detained on 30th June 2018.

The second involved the Malta-flagged 'Pallas Glory' found with 20 deficiencies, 3 of which were ground for detention. This vessel was still detained on 30th June 2018.

The third is about the Panamanian-flagged 'New Hydra', found with 9 deficiencies. Two of them was ground for detention. This vessel was released on 17th June 2018.

The fourth detention was on the Russia-flagged 'Tecoil Polaris'. 27 deficiencies were found onboard, with eight ground for detention. This vessel was still detained on 30th June 2018.

The fifth one regarded the Liberia-flagged 'Yeoman Bank'. 14 deficiencies were found onboard, with four ground for detention. This vessel was released on 7th June 2018.

The sixth detention took place on the Panama-flagged 'Burhoui'. 8 deficiencies were found onboard, with two ground for detention. This vessel was released on 21st June 2018.

The last detention involved the Singapore-flagged 'Epic Corfu'. 16 deficiencies were found onboard, with two ground for detention. This vessel was released on 5th June 2018.

Detentions carried over from previous months

The St Kitts and Nevis-flagged 'Atlantic' was released on 1st June 2018. The ship had 19 deficiencies, with seventeen ground for detention.

The Bahamas-flagged 'Celtica Hav' was released on 5th June 2018. It got detained due to 2 detainable deficiencies.

The Panama-flagged 'Sea Trident' was still detained on 30th June 2018, due to 17 deficiencies, including 17 grounds for detention.

Finally, the unregistered 'Cien Porcient' was still detained on 30th June 2018, due to 30 deficiencies, including seven grounds for detention.
