TINNews |

THE Czech region of Karlovy Vary announced on November 3 that it will provide funding for a new weekend cross-border service between Karlovy Vary and Zwickau, where there will be connections with Mid-German S-Bahn services to Leipzig and Halle.

From December 10, northbound services will depart from Karlovy Vary Dolní Nádraží at 06.48 and 14.41, arriving at Zwickau Main Station at 08.59 and 16.59 respectively. Both services offer a five-minute connection with S-Bahn services to Leipzig and Halle. Southbound trains will depart from Zwickau at 10.03 and 18.03.

The service will be operated by GW Train Regio, Czech Republic, and will require a subsidy of around €6m per year from the regional government.
