Siemens receives traffic management contract for Northern Ireland

Siemens has secured a contract from the Northern Ireland Department for Infrastructure (DfI) to provide improved signal solutions, as well as maintain traffic management equipment over four years. 

Under the contract, the company will be responsible for providing high-level equipment availability and also respond to any faults that may occur on the equipment and promptly fix issues within a specified time period.

NI Department for Infrastructure ITS head Roy Gordon said: "Siemens is a well-established service provider in Northern Ireland and we already have an excellent working relationship with the company.

"The decision to select Siemens was based on a competitive combination of quality, cost, proven competence, and capability.

"For the next four years, Siemens will provide a high level of service and support in terms of the effective delivery of the contract requirements and we are pleased to work with the company to deliver improved traffic signal and highway network performance."

In addition, Siemens will conduct routine maintenance assessments and replace lamps at appropriate intervals in order to meet existing standards. 

By awarding this contract to Siemens, Dfl aims to provide an enhanced service to the stakeholders within the contract area, through continuous improvement in the reliability of the equipment on street.

Siemens has been providing products, systems, and solutions that enable people and goods to be transported in an efficient, safe and environmentally friendly manner.
