Iranian Minister of Petroleum Bijan Zangeneh says relationships between Iran and Indonesia are close and constructive in oil market, adding the two countries are keen on enhancing their mutual ties.

Speaking during a meeting with Indonesian Coordinating Maritime Affairs Minister Luhut Binsar Panjaitan in his Tehran office on Sunday, Mr. Zangeneh said the relations between Iran and Indonesia as two major Muslim countries have always been friendly and strong.

Expressing gratification over the presence of the Indonesian delegation at President Rouhani’s swearing-in on Saturday, Zangeneh said oil and gas sectors are areas where Iran and Indonesia can experience good relations in.

“Pertamina has close relations with National Iranian Oil Company (NIOC) in trading oil and developing oilfield and investing in them,” he said.

Panjaitan highlighted Iran as a country with rich civilization in the world, adding the sanctions could not prevent Iran’s progress.
