Implementation of TIR a priority for China Customs

TIN news: IRU Secretary General Umberto de Pretto met with China Customs to discuss next steps for the implementation of TIR during his participation at the Belt & Road Forum in China.

Reinforcing the importance of TIR to contributing to the success of the Belt & Road Initiative, Vice Minister of China Customs, Sun Yibiao, reiterated his commitment to making TIR operational in China as swiftly as possible.

Separate meetings with the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank encouraged the bank to include “software infrastructure” (such as TIR and training – as provided by the IRU Academy) as a condition for its wider infrastructure investment.
