Oliveira: Portugal keen on investment in Iran

TIN news:   Portuguese Deputy Foreign Minister Jorge Costa Oliveira expressed his country’s willingness for investment in Iran and called for direct flights between Lisbon and Tehran.

In a Sunday meeting in Tehran with Mohammad Khazaei, the head of Iran’s Foreign Investment Organization and a deputy economy minister, Oliveira said that launching direct flights between Iran and Portugal would help facilitate promotion of economic cooperation between the two nations.
Khazaei stressed the Iranian government’s resolve for promotion of mutual cooperation with Portugal in various fields, including banking, business, investment and tourism.
He added that major Iranian banks are ready to cooperate with Portuguese banks.
International interest in ties with Iran has been growing since Tehran and the P5+1 – Russia, China, the US, Britain, France and Germany – on July 14, 2015 finalized a comprehensive nuclear deal and started implementing it on January 16.
The agreement, known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), terminated all nuclear-related sanctions imposed on Iran.
