ENAP to deliver two LNG cargoes this year via terminal in northern Chile

TIN news:           Chile’s ENAP will deliver two cargoes of LNG to clients this year via the Mejillones terminal in northern Chile, CEO Marcelo Tokman said Thursday.
 
The state oil firm receives LNG under a long-term contract from BG Group to the Quintero regasification in central Chile, in which it is a shareholder.
 
“Last year we sold one LNG cargo to Mejillones and this year, of the nine cargoes to be received, two are cargoes that we have sold,” the executive told journalists in Santiago.
 
ENAP is due to receive the equivalent of 3.3 million cu m/d of gas from BG under its contracts this year. The firm consumes approximately 40% of this gas in its Aconcagua and Biobio oil refineries and sells the remainder to third parties in central and northern Chile.
 
This company is selling 20% of its LNG to power company Colbun for its combined-cycle plants in central Chile.
 
ENAP is not the only partner at Quintero diverting cargoes to Mejillones.
 
Last month, Endesa Chile said it sent one cargo north to power its GasAtacama combined-cycle complex.
