Containership loses 42 containers off Japan

UK MAIB announced that it has launched an investigation regarding the 2006-built containership ‘Ever Smart’, from which 42 containers fell overboard.

According to UK MAIB the incident happened on 30th of October and while the UK flagged vessel was sailing 700 nautical miles east of Japan.

According to sources, at the time of the incident, the weather conditions were not ideal.

Ever Smart was heading to the port of L.A from Taipei and it was bound to arrive at the US port on the 8th of November, according to data by Marine Traffic.

The 2006-built containership is managed by the UK-based shipping firm Evergreen Marine.
