New model for metre gauge maintenance

TINNews |

Infrastructure manager ADIF has awarded a joint venture of Comsa (35%), Cycasa (30%) and Tecsa (35%) a €33∙7m contract to maintain its 1 000 mm gauge routes.

Running for 24 months, the contract follows a new model which aims to achieve desired levels of reliability and improve quality as perceived by the end user.

Including inspection and programmed maintenance of infrastructure, track and switches and crossings, the new contract will see work programmes assessed on a monthly basis to ensure that targets for quality, reliability and safety have been met. The contractor will also have to respond to incidents within a set time.
