GySEV orders ۱۰ Flirt۳ EMUs

TIN news:   Following an open tender, GySEV has awarded Stadler a €68·45m EU-funded contract to supply 10 four-car Flirt3 regional electric multiple-units between March 2018 and January 2019.
The bodyshells and bogies are to be manufactured at Stadler’s factory at Szolnok in Hungary, with final assembly at the Siedlce plant in Poland.
GySEV had previously ordered a total of 10 Flirt EMUs in two batches in 2013 and 2015. The latest order confirmed on September 1 covers TSI-compliant third-generation units meeting EN 15227 crashworthiness standards which provide the driver with more protection.
The 90% low-floor EMUs will be 2 820 mm wide and 77·1 m long, with the additional 2·8 m in length compared to previous GySEV units enabling the inclusion of a conventional toilet in addition to the wheelchair accessible toilet. Each EMU will have 194 fixed and 14 tip-up seats, as well as air-conditioning, CCTV, wi-fi and charging sockets.
The maximum speed will be 160  km/h, with the acceleration of 1·2 m/s2 enabling the EMUs to reach 120 km/h in 39 sec. Multiple working with GySEV’s existing Flirt EMUs will be possible.
