Tajik customs eyes the new generation TIR

TINNews |

IRU engaged with customs officials at training workshops in Tajikistan this week, to raise awareness of higher level guarantees as well as TIR’s tried and tested IT tools.

The workshop comes ahead of the introduction of the TIR+ voucher in Tajikistan, which will make TIR even more flexible by covering extra guarantee limits when needed, and securing customs duties and taxes.

The use of TIR’s digital tools in Tajikistan is an important step towards the prospect of fully digital TIR, paving the way for future logistics operations.

IRU also presented the eTIR project, and e-CMR, the digital consignment note, highlighting benefits of accurate and faster data exchange and greater transparency.

TIR+ and the implementation of TIR’s IT tools, namely, Real-Time SafeTIR and TIR Electronic Pre-Declarations (TIR-EPD) were discussed in meetings with the Deputy Head of Customs Service under the Government of Tajikistan, Azim Haidar Tursunzoda, with participation from the IRU Tajik member, the Association of International Road Carriers (ABBAT).
