HzL orders 10 Alstom DMUs for Ulm Star network

HOHENZOLLERN Railways (HzL) has awarded Alstom a contract worth around €50m to supply 10 Coradia Lint 54 DMUs for the Ulm Star regional network in Baden-Württemberg, which HzL will operate for 13 years from June 2019.
The 140km/h two-car trains will have an entrance floor height of 630mm. Each set will seat 150 passengers and accommodate up to 18 bicycles. The trains will be assembled at Alstom’s Salzgitter plant and deliveries will be completed by May 2019.
The Ulm Star network encompasses Aalen - Langenau - Ulm Regional Express services and regional services from Ulm to Langenau and Munderkingen.
