Girl dies after fall onboard Carnival cruise ship

An 8-year-old girl died after falling from an interior atrium onto the lower deck of a Carnival cruise ship on Saturday, while the vessel was docked at Miami port.

Local media reveal that the girl fell approximately 20 feet, during passengers’ disembarkation from the ‘Carnival Glory’, on morning hours of Saturday.

The girl was transferred to the ship’s medical center to receive emergency care and then, she was taken to a nearby hospital, where she succumbed to her injuries, Carnival informed.

    “Our most heartfelt care and concern is with the family at this very difficult time,” the company stated.

The cause of the fall is still unknown. An investigation in underway to determine the causes of the accident.
