TIN news:   German cargo airline Lufthansa Cargo is to open a new station at Paderborn-Lippstadt Airport in Büren, Germany
The Lufthansa subsidiary is working in close collaboration with the airport to open the new station.
Lufthansa Cargo Sales and Freight Handling regional director Ulla Kuntze said: "Our new service in Paderborn contributes to the further acceleration of imports and exports at the business location of Eastern Westphalia.
"The environment also benefits from the new freight handling options at Paderborn-Lippstadt Airport because bundled consignments can now be transported to our hub."
In the initial stage of the opening of the new facility, consignments in the standard freight, express freight and hazardous materials categories will be transported in regularly scheduled trucks under an LH flight number to the Frankfurt hub.
The new Lufthansa Cargo station at Germany's Paderborn-Lippstadt Airport will initially operate from Wednesday to Friday every week.

Paderborn-Lippstadt Airport chief executive officer Dr Marc Cezanne said: "We see great development potential for air cargo at the airport.
"In Lufthansa Cargo, we have gained a first-class partner and are delighted to be part of the branch network of the world's leading cargo airline."
Lufthansa Cargo, which focuses on airport-to-airport business, provides the Frankfurt and Munich hubs with access to nearly 300 destinations worldwide.
Last business year, the airline transported nearly 1.6 million tonnes of freight and mail, and also sold 8.4 billion revenue tonne-kilometres.
