Deutsche Bahn awards ICE wi - fi contract

TIN news:   Deutsche Bahn has awarded Icomera a contract to provide internet access on its fleet of around 260 ICE high speed trainsets by the end of the year, plus more than 100 new ICE 4 trainsets which are on order.
Icomera is to supply its X-Series open application and connectivity platform.
‘We are very pleased that, through a rigorous procurement process, Deutsche Bahn has chosen Icomera to provide its onboard passenger Wi-Fi’, said Icomera President & CEO Karl-Johan Holm on April 29. ‘Our solution will extend the high quality passenger experience that Deutsche Bahn is known for, while also establishing the framework and foundations required for developing a truly interconnected ecosystem of onboard services and systems in the future. This will ensure that passengers are more productive, better entertained and better informed when they travel.’
