Alstom to deliver ۱۲ new MF۰۱ metro sets for STIF and RATP

TIN news:   A consortium consisting of Alstom, Bombardier Transport and Areva will deliver 12 new MF01 metro sets to Ile-de-France Transport Authority (STIF) and Paris transport operator Régie Autonome des Transports Parisiens (RATP).

Under this €75m project, the train sets will be deployed on Lines 2, 5 and 9 of the Paris metro network.

This new delivery marks the exercise of options on an agreement signed in 2001. It also provides design studies, development and manufacturing of train sets that will be delivered until 2016.

The air-conditioned MF01 metro is also equipped with CCTV cameras to provide better comfort and safety to its passengers, Alstom stated.

The wide corridors and circulation spaces offers better accessibility and the installation of onix drive systems provide less noise and vibration.

The train also delivers 30% less energy consumption due to the energy recovery systems connected to its electric brakes.

Alstom is responsible for the supply of components and sub-assemblies to develop the energy production system and the drive and braking systems, as well as the integration of these elements and those supplied by other partners, the company said.

It will also monitor fitting out of the cars, assembling of the train sets and the trials before its delivery.

In 2007, RATP signed a €189m contract with the consortium for 49 metro trainsets and another order worth €300m was placed in 2011 for a new tranche of 66 MF01 metro trainsets.
