Acyclica to make Las Vegas roads safer with Smart City technology

TIN news:  The Regional Transportation Commission of Southern Nevada has partnered with Acyclica, a US-based company that provides real-time traffic congestion information and traffic signal information to make streets in Las Vegas smarter and to allow traffic to move more efficiently.
Las Vegas City is set to take the new initiative by installing a traffic-monitoring system that uses technology to help determine vehicles movement on the roads and monitors the state of traffic signals, all in real time.
As part of the new partnership, Acyclica will be installing sensors across 2,300 intersections as well as at the region's multi-jurisdiction corridors to provide the city and drivers a more holistic perspective on the region's traffic.
"With help of these sensors, Las Vegas City will be monitoring and controlling the traffic movement from their traffic control center."

The engineers will have the provision to alter the traffic-signal timing, as well as check various streets and intersections and analyse trends in real-time.
Additionally, drivers in Las Vegas will soon have an access to a new type of smart city technology that allows traffic lights to communicate with their cars so they can know when the light is going to turn green.
The autonomous vehicles will also have access to real-time traffic light data so they know when to stop or slow down.
When a driver approaches a traffic light anywhere in the Las Vegas area, their car will show them the status of the light.
