Cathay Dragon to turn over narrowbody fleet

TINNews |

Hong Kong-based Cathay Pacific Group has signed an MOU with Airbus for 32 A321neo single-aisle aircraft, the airline group said Aug. 21. The aircraft will be operated by the group’s regional subsidiary, Cathay Dragon, on Asian services.

The new aircraft will replace Cathay Dragon’s current fleet of 15 A320s and eight A321s, with the additional aircraft allowing future expansion of both routes and frequencies.

“With the A321neo we expect to benefit from a very significant increase in operating efficiency, while increasing capacity in the Cathay Dragon network,” Cathay Pacific CEO and Cathay Dragon chairman Rupert Hogg said.
